Who can use IOL.im?

IOL.im is a social network reserved for adults. Access to IOL.im is therefore only allowed to users aged 18 and over (the minimum registration age is subject to change if the user is resident in a country where the age of majority is reached after 18 years). You confirm that you have the right, the authority, as well as the ability to access the Terms of Use, and that you are able to comply with all Terms and Conditions contained therein. You ensure that you are not violating any law or rule in force in your country of residence when using the site. It is the user's responsibility to follow the laws and rules applicable in their country of residence. The user also confirms that he/she is not being investigated and has not been convicted of assault, violence, or sexual harassment.

What can be published on IOL.im?

On IOL.im, you can post various types of material ("Content"), including photos, videos, information, and messages. However, there are some rules to respect. On IOL.im it is indeed forbidden to publish or send Content:

1. involves a child: any content that features, involves, or depicts a child;

3. that contain swearing, offensive expressions, or language that may annoy, harass, embarrass, frighten or disturb other members of the community;
4. abusive and threatening words or sentences, as well as words or sentences inciting racism, hatred, or intolerance;
5. that encourage any illegal activity, including, but not limited to, acts of terrorism and incitement to racial hatred;
6. defamatory;
7. relating to commercial, socio-recreational activities (including associations, private clubs, premises, sales, competitions, advertising, links to other websites or payphone numbers);
8. which provide for the sending of unwanted mail or "spam";
9. that contain spyware, adware, viruses, corrupt files, worms, or other malicious code designed to interrupt, damage, or limit the functionality of any software, hardware, telecommunication tool, network, server or other equipment, or Trojan horses or other material intended to damage, interfere with, intercept or misappropriate data or personal information from IOL.im or other sites;
10. that violates the rights of third parties (including, but not limited to, intellectual property rights and rights to privacy);
11. depicting another person, created and distributed without the consent of the person portrayed in it.

Please always use common sense before publishing Content on your Profile or sending material to IOL.im as the responsibility for such actions and the consequences that may arise will lie solely with the user himself/herself.

Are there any rules to respect regarding the disclosure of your personal data?

It is forbidden to publish on one's page ("Profile"), in speed dates, and travel programs, personal or bank data of one's own or of others (for example, name, address, postal code, telephone number, e-mail address, URL credit card or other bank details). Sending this type of data, including via messages and chats, is at your own risk, even if permitted by law. IOL.im recommends maximum caution in disclosing your personal data to third parties. Can you handle the information of others?

Yes, as long as they are used only for website purposes, i.e. connecting people with each other. It is forbidden to use other people's data for commercial and advertising purposes or to spam, harass, or threaten other members. IOL.im reserves the right to delete the Profile of those who abuse the personal information of other users.

Can other people log into your account?

No. Only the account holder is authorized to access the Profile. It is recommended not to share your credentials with anyone and not allow others to access your account to prevent the jeopardization of the Contents and personal information related to IOL.im. It is the user's responsibility to keep their access data to the website safely. In the event of negligence by the user, IOL.im will not be held responsible for any unauthorized access by third parties. If the user becomes aware of unauthorized use of their credentials or suspects that their Profile has been violated, they must immediately report the event to IOL.im, explaining the situation in detail, and immediately change the access data. IOL.im reserves the right to delete the account if the user does not comply with the rules on maintaining access credentials' confidentiality.

Who can see what is posted on IOL.im?

The Contents published on IOL.im will be made public to other registered users. If you want to maintain hidden the uploaded material (such as photographs), you can use the private albums and grant access only to specific users or categories. Users wishing to keep all their Contents private are invited to avoid uploading material to the IOL.im. IOL.im reserves the right to remove, modify, limit or block access to any published Contents at its sole discretion and without notice. Furthermore, IOL.im has no obligation to make all the uploaded Contents public, nor to check its accuracy or truthfulness, nor to monitor the use that other subscribers or the same user make of it.

Once Contents have been uploaded to IOL.im, does it belong to the user?

Yes, provided that he is the rightful owner. For more information on this, see the point below: "Is it possible to use Contents that I do not own?". All Contents, shared publicly or transmitted in private, will be the sole responsibility of the user, whom by sending or publishing them declares to be the legitimate owner, and grants IOL.im a non-exclusive license, free from royalties, perpetual and valid worldwide, for the use, modification, copying, reproduction, adaptation, translation, publication, reformatting, processing, transmission, display and distribution of such Contents, partial or total, with any support or method of distribution currently available or developed in the future. You agree that this license also includes IOL.im's right to assign or make available the above licenses to its affiliates and successors without receiving any authorization from the user. By submitting material to IOL.im, the user guarantees to be the exclusive owner and agrees to reject any claims of moral rights relating to such Content (including, but not limited to, the right to be considered its author). IOL.im reserves the right to reveal users' identity to third parties if they are reported for the violation of intellectual property rights, privacy rights, prostitution laws, misleading advertising, or any other law in force.

Who owns the remaining parts of the Contents?

At IOL.im. The text, graphics, interfaces, trademarks, logos, sound effects, and design are the exclusive property of IOL.im and are therefore protected by copyright, registered trademark, and other intellectual property rights.

May I use Contents that I don't own?

The user enjoys rights related only to the material published by himself/herself on IOL.im, but not to the rest of the Contents and agrees not to use the Contents that infringe third parties' rights. This means that, among other things, the user undertakes not to copy, modify, adapt, distribute, publish or sell one or more parts of IOL.im or the Contents contained therein (except for those uploaded by the user himself/herself).

What happens if I block another member or get blocked?

When you use the function to block another member or are blocked by others, in addition to preventing the ability to view each other's Profiles and send new messages, the conversations between the accounts and any photos and videos sent or received via messaging or chat system are permanently deleted.

What can be purchased on IOL.im?

Joining the IOL.im world, creating a profile with photos and videos, looking for people to know is free. There are also some paid functions on the site that will allow you to use our portal fully. If you want to know the costs and conditions of these services, we invite you to click directly on the paid functions once registered. Paid Services can be purchased after registration also. The duration of the subscriptions is variable, and purchases are non-refundable.

How can I renew paid services on IOL.im?

IOL.im does not use automatic subscription renewal; it will be up to the user, if he wishes, to renew it of his own accord.

Is it possible to transfer the purchased services to another IOL.im user?

The user who has decided to purchase paid features or other services offered by IOL.im agrees to use these services exclusively for himself, and will not transfer them to third parties (neither for free nor in exchange for money) or buy them from / sell them to other members. IOL.im reserves the right to retain the services purchased if the user has tried to sell them to / buy them from other members. The services will be provided exclusively to the person who has made the purchase.

Will the IOL.im service be guaranteed at all times?

Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee it. Both the website and the web app may be subjected to maintenance works overtime or incur temporary technical errors or circumstances beyond our control. Furthermore, it is not possible to guarantee the quality, accuracy, functionality, availability, or performance of IOL.im. The services offered are continually evolving, and their form or nature may vary from time to time, without notice. IOL.im also reserves the right to interrupt (temporarily or permanently) or modify the provision of services (or any functionality contained therein) to the user or to the overall community, without prior notice.

What has to be known about mobile access?

It will be the user's responsibility to ensure that they can access IOL.im (such as, for example, paying for the internet connection and the rates of their telephone operator and any other costs associated with such access). IOL.im will not be responsible for any malfunctions arising from or connected to accessing IOL.im via mobile phone or other services currently known or developed in the future. Access to IOL.im or consent to receiving messages and notifications from IOL.im via mobile phone or other devices implies the possibility of incurring additional costs applied by your internet operator or telephone operator; IOL.im disclaims any responsibility for such charges.

Is it possible to access the website and the web app if you are not registered?

Non-registered subjects will only be able to access the site's public sections, but it will not be possible to create a Profile or upload Content. The pages accessible to subscribers may vary according to several access criteria. IOL.im reserves the right to modify or update these criteria at its discretion and without prior notice.

If a Profile has disappeared and can no longer be accessed, what is happening?

Some people do not pay attention to the Terms of Use and post inappropriate Content or act inconsistently with the site's purpose and the Web app. In such cases, IOL.im, at its sole discretion and without notice or refund obligation for any unused services, will be entitled to:

1. suspend or revoke the user's registration and the latter's right to access, use and publish Content on IOL.im;
2. use all operational, technological, legal, and other means at its disposal to enforce the Terms of Use (these measures may also include blocking specific email addresses or blocking specific functions or services).

Although it is not obliged to do so, IOL.im could inform the user of the blocking or removal of the affected user's account.

How to unsubscribe from IOL.im?

Deleting your account is a straightforward procedure. To do it, open the "My profile" section, click on the "Manage profile" button, and click on the "Delete profile" link in the Privacy section. A window will appear requesting confirmation of the cancellation. Once deleted, the account is no longer recoverable; upon removal, all data entered are permanently deleted: photos, videos, messages. How to act when you realize that a user is violating the site's rules?

In such cases, the user can report the abuse to IOL.im by opening the "Contact page". In the report must be provided detailed explanations of the contact reason. We will always try our best to ensure that users' issues with our service are resolved as quickly as possible. However, if a dispute remains unresolved, the user has the right to contact the online dispute resolution platform set up by the European Commission and accessible here.

Are there any guidelines regarding the protection of personal data?

Users' data are processed following our Privacy Policy, the terms of which are incorporated into these "Terms of Use". The user is required to consult the aforementioned Privacy policy before any use. The use of IOL.im implies the consent to the processing of data described in the information as well as the guarantee that the information provided are correct, accurate, and truthful.

Do the links on the website and the web app belong to IOL.im?

IOL.im may contain links to other sites, resources, and purchase opportunities belonging to third parties, published for informational purposes only. By clicking these links, the user may be redirected to third-party sites, governed by their specific terms of use and privacy policies, which may differ from ours. The publication of third-party links on the site does not imply IOL.im's approval of the content, sites, or resources provided by them. Important: it is not allowed for users the sending of advertising, promotional material, posting advertising links, or any other form of unauthorized or unsolicited solicitation, via messages as well as any other method of contact.

One person has threatened to take legal action against another user. Will your lawyers take care of the situation?

No. If a user has had an incorrect or inappropriate attitude towards another member, he will be solely responsible for the consequences of his actions. IOL.im declines all responsibility for inappropriate behavior by any of the site members or on material published by users.

What is IOL.im responsible for?

IOL.im will only be liable for any liability that cannot be excluded or limited by applicable law. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, IOL.im excludes:

1. any conditions, representations, or warranties of any nature, express or implied, concerning these Terms of Use or to the site;
2. any liability concerning the use of IOL.im and its services or about these Terms of Use, including, but not limited to, claims, charges, requests, any expenses, losses, or damages of any nature (direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, punitive or consequential) even in the case of negligence. The user agrees to indemnify and hold IOL.im, its officers, managers, employees, agents, representatives, and grantors harmless, from and against any claim, damage (real and/or consequential), legal action, judicial proceeding, request, loss, liability, cost, and expense (including legal fees) suffered by IOL.im due to, or in connection with, a particular user's access to the site, the uploading or submission of Content that does not comply with what is specified in these Terms of use or that violate any applicable laws or regulations ("Complaint").
